‘Back in Action’ New York City Premiere Canceled Due to L.A. Fires

The New York Metropolis premiere of Cameron Diaz’s comeback film, “Again in Motion,” on Thursday evening has been canceled amid the Los Angeles fires.

“Because of the tragic fires we will probably be canceling our ‘Again in Motion’ New York Metropolis premiere. We acknowledge many in our business and their family members are at present affected and our ideas are with them right now,” Netflix mentioned in a press release Wednesday evening. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may increasingly trigger and recognize your understanding.”

After an 11-year hiatus from performing, Diaz returns to the massive display in the spy motion comedy alongside along with her “Annie” co-star Jamie Foxx. The film follows Diaz and Foxx as a retired CIA agent couple, Emily and Matt, who discover themselves out of the suburbs and again on the sphere when their cowl is all of the sudden uncovered.

“Again in Motion” will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 17.

The premiere’s cancellation seems to be the primary main New York Metropolis occasion not happening due to the L.A. fires.

A number of premieres in Los Angeles have been canceled, together with pink carpet screenings of “Unstoppable,” “Wolf Man” and “The Final Showgirl.” The AFI Awards luncheon, the BAFTA Tea Occasion, the Critic’s Alternative Awards and AARP’s Motion pictures for Grownups have all been postponed.

The deadline for Oscar nomination voting was prolonged on Wednesday for 2 days as a result of Southern California fires.

Voting for the almost 10,000 Academy members opened Jan. 8 and was initially set to shut on Jan. 12. The deadline is now Jan. 14. The nominations announcement, initially scheduled to be introduced on Jan. 17, has moved to Jan. 19. Conan O’Brien will host the 2025 Oscars ceremony, which takes place on March 2.
