A former Victoria’s Secret driver in New York and his family were abducted at gunpoint and kept in a cabin in Brazil, while the police are hunting the people who committed the crime.
Luciana Curtis, her husband and their 11-year-old daughter were attacked by masked men when they left a restaurant in Alto da Lapa, an upper neighborhood in the West Zone in Sao Paulo. They were taken to a rural house in the Sao Paulo area and kept for 12 hours.
The group transferred money to the bank accounts of people associated with the criminal group and stole the couple’s car, GWM Haval, which is worth more than $33,000. The stolen money has not yet been returned by the model, 47, and her husband, photographer Henrique Gendre, 53.
The older daughter screamed when the family did not return from the restaurant, and the police were notified. However, the team had already released the parents and the girl at 10:30 on Thursday morning.
“During the search conducted by professional police teams, this group left the family and ran away,” the police said.
They were thrown into the area in the north of the city and walked until they got help from the local workers. The police went to this place, but there was no sign of these criminals. So far no one has been arrested.
Police said the three had “expressed great distress” while Curtis’ press office said the family was “doing well”.
Curtis is the daughter of British businessman Malcolm Leo Curtis. He divides his time between New York, Sao Paulo and London.
She has modeled for the likes of Victoria’s Secret, Harrods and H&M.
