Trump Quits Project 2025

Donald Trump is taking another page from the authority’s Project 2025 playbook—and that’s with a list of trusted MAGA hires.

After desperately trying, often unsuccessfully, to distance his campaign from Project 2025’s unpopular, extreme policies, Trump’s transition team has been using a database of right-wing bookies to time inside the new administration, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

“There are many positions to fill and we continue to send names, including from the database as they are safe, qualified and vetted,” the source, who has worked on Project 2025, told NBC News. “It’s hard to get 4,000 people strong, so we’re happy to help.”

Paul Dans, the former director of Project 2025, previously described his plan to make a “Conservative Linkedin” with the information of thousands of potential Trump administration employees. He saw himself as a labor machine to eliminate the “deep state” and replace union workers with loyal MAGA devotees.

Dani hoped that his plan would allow Trump to make major changes quickly. “If someone can’t enter and evict people immediately, what good is the political administration?” Dans said in December.

Earlier this week, Trump nominated Russ Vought, a Christian nationalist with ties to Project 2025, to lead the Office of Management and Budget. He also named Brendan Carr, who wrote the Project 2025 chapter at the Federal Communications Commission, to lead the agency.

Last week, Trump nominated John Ratcliffe, co-author of Project 2025, to head the Central Intelligence Agency.
