I’ve never grown a beard, so many men in my life! Whether it’s your husband, father, or brother, here are some of the best options for the best beard oil. These help nourish the skin and soothe irritation and inflammation, all while smelling good.
They make great stocking stuffers or gifts. And if you feel like making your own, here’s my DIY beard oil recipe.
What is Beard Oil and how to use it
A healthy beard starts with a good grooming routine. And if you (or your significant other) went No-Shave-November this year you might be looking for a way to keep that beard. Many men use beard oil for strong hair, healthy skin, and a beautiful beard.
Regular soaps can cause dry skin as they are not really made for facial hair. It is important to moisturize the skin, but the cream can be difficult to apply to the beard area. So how do you take care of your beard hair and scalp?
After washing your face with beard soap or soap, moisturize with some beard oil. These have special carrier oils (and often essential oils) to protect both the beard and the skin underneath. Usually, all you need is a few drops massaged into the skin and beard. A long beard needs a little more.
Best Beard Oil Ingredients
Beard oil has exploded in popularity recently so you will find many beard oils on the market. Some, though, have synthetic ingredients that can irritate the skin, cause irritation, or have unknown long-term health effects. Other brands use artificial fragrances that are known to cause issues such as hormone imbalance, cancer, headaches, skin irritation, and more.
The best beard oil has a blend of natural carrier oils (and sometimes essential oils). Ingredients like butter and coconut oil are great for the skin, but are too harsh for liquid beard oils. You can find unscented varieties, but essential oils also provide some benefits for hair and skin. Here are some good options to avoid and what they do.
- Jojoba oil – It simulates the natural oils of our skin so that they can be absorbed quickly. Jojoba is anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and rich in vitamins and minerals for healthy skin. It also has antioxidants to fight aging and skin damage.
- Vitamin E Oil – A natural antioxidant that fights free radical damage. It also helps to extend the shelf life of oil-based products.
- Argan oil – Rich in linoleic acid and vitamins A and E. Linoleic acid reduces inflammation and acne while maintaining skin moisture.
- Castor oil – Accelerates hair growth (a lot!), reduces inflammation, and soothes damaged skin. It has fatty acids that may prevent hair loss. It helps hydrate the skin and discourages unhealthy bacteria that can cause breakouts. It increases the shine of the hair and may prevent split ends.
- Meadowfoam seed oil – Comfort sound oil has a unique fatty acid profile with a very long shelf life. It is an emollient to help soften and smooth the skin, prevent moisture loss, balance oil production and reduce blemishes.
- Essential oils Popular beard oils include sandalwood, peppermint, tea tree, cedar wood, rosemary, and lavender. These have many different benefits such as being anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. They also promote hair growth and maintain skin health. If the skin is very sensitive or damaged, then essential oils can be more irritating.
Why Use Natural Beard Oil?
Here are a few ways a good beard oil can help improve the health of your beard and skin.
- It can help your beard grow by improving hair growth. They work on beard hair and bare skin to encourage healthy growth.
- It helps the long beard to be more free. After applying follow the beard comb for best results.
- It makes coarse beard hair feel soft.
- It nourishes the skin under the beard to prevent dryness, itchiness, itchiness, and breakouts.
- It strengthens the hair follicles to reduce shedding and breakage.
Best Beard Oil
The best beard oil for men depends on what you’re looking for. Of course, you will need something that will give you a healthy beard, but natural ingredients are also important. Some beard oils work well but have harsh ingredients that can irritate the skin or expose it to toxins and endocrine disruptors.
The following beard care options have nourishing ingredients and work well. So men can have a better beard, healthy, kissable skin.

Don’t stop at just beard oil! A beard wash made specifically for the beard area can help prevent dryness and irritation from regular soaps. You can make your own natural shampoo or find one here at Moroccan Style.
Beard oil or beard butter is equally nourishing but these products are thicker. They may also feature moisturizing ingredients like cocoa butter, mango butter, and shea butter that are too thick to use as a beard oil. Balger Balm sells good beard balms here.
