Several people were injured when Hezbollah launched 165 stones at Israel

Sirens sounded across Israel and dozens of people were injured on Sunday in a rocket attack from Lebanon, the Israeli army said, as the Lebanese Army recorded another death from an Israeli attack.

It said at least 165 stones were fired by Iran-allied Hezbollah forces, forcing people to evacuate in central and northern Israel, including in Tel Aviv.

According to the military, 30 shells were fired at the coastal city of Haifa and the western region of Galilee within a few minutes, some of which were intercepted.

Many people are said to have been injured in this attack.

The attack came a day after an Israeli airstrike in Beirut reportedly killed at least 20 people.

Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire several times since the attack on October 7, 2023. Israel launched an offensive to dislodge forces from southern Lebanon in September.

A Lebanese Army soldier was killed

Also on Sunday, the Lebanese Army said one of its soldiers was killed and 18 others were wounded in an Israeli attack on a military base in southern Lebanon.

The army added in a statement on social media platform X that the attack targeted a group of soldiers in the Al-Amiriya area near the coastal city of Tyre.

The military did not specify the extent of the attack but said the area was heavily damaged.

The Lebanese news agency NNA reported that the position came under Israeli attack and its departments came under fire.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

The Lebanese army remains neutral in the ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah, but recently found itself caught in the middle of the war.

Several Lebanese soldiers have already been killed since the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel in September.
