Rams troll 49ers with boombox graphic after key division win appeared originally on NBC Sports Bay Area
The winners get the bragging rights — and the Los Angeles Rams don’t need to be told twice.
After the 49ers’ crushing 12-6 loss to the Rams on Thursday at Levi’s Stadium, Los Angeles wasted no time rubbing salt in San Francisco’s sore wound.
Immediately following the win, the Rams took X, formerly known as Twitter, to troll coach Kyle Shanahan and co. with a 49ers boombox graphic — the centerpiece of the team’s pregame ritual — in the bin.
Getting into the pregame boombox has been a 49ers tradition for some time and gained national notoriety during San Francisco’s wild-card round win over the Dallas Cowboys in the 2021 NFL playoffs.
Since then, many teams have used the boombox in San Francisco’s shootout attempts, so the Rams’ taunt was a bit unoriginal.
But, hey, Los Angeles did everything but end their NFC West rivals’ already slim playoff hopes.
The shaken 49ers, who are 6-8 after their Week 15 loss, dropped their first series since 2018 to the Rams.
Now, trolling in Los Angeles may lack originality, but ultimately they’ve earned the right to prank San Francisco, which is last in the division.
If the 49ers need any motivation to beat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18, look no further.
