One driver was pulled over for using his bootlaces to operate the manual wipers of a broken car, according to Staffordshire Police.
They went to the Nissan Micra at the Esso garage on Watling Street in Cheslyn Hay after seeing a plan to do so, police said.
Post on X, the Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team said that although the wiping method was “artificial”, it was “unacceptable”.
A police spokesman confirmed that the car had been seized by police after the incident shortly after 22:00 GMT on 23 November.
A 31-year-old man from Burton-upon-Trent has been charged with driving without a licence, driving without insurance and driving in a dangerous area.
