Part of the Premium Outlets parking lot is falling from under the fire

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – The James City County Fire Department is investigating an underground fire at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets off Richmond Road.

The JCC Fire Department said they were dispatched around 9 a.m. to Premium Outlets for an underground fire.

Units arrived to find the parking lot behind the store partially collapsed and firefighters working in the storm water storage area.

Out of an abundance of caution, and due to the smoke, some local businesses were evacuated.

This situation is ongoing and the public is advised to avoid the area.
