Obama, Pelosi didn’t want Kamala Harris to be a candidate: Democratic megadonor

(NewsNation) – Democratic megadonor John Morgan joined “CUOMO” on Monday night to discuss the failure of the Harris-Walz campaign, saying that former President Barack Obama and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi did not want Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate to replace President Joe. Biden.

Mr. Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July, amid pressure from Democratic officials. He endorsed Harris less than an hour later, while former President Obama took five days to endorse Harris on his X page.

Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi didn’t like Kamala Harris: Megadonor

“He didn’t want to go soft,” Morgan said of Biden. “He chose him, Obama didn’t like him. Obama didn’t support him for five days, Pelosi didn’t like him.”

According to Morgan, Biden’s endorsement of Harris was “F you” to Obama and Pelosi.

The most Democratic use to remove Harris ‘forever’: Megadonor

“I think it was saying, F you to Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama and every representative that has been kicking him out … and I think he’s angry,” Morgan told Cuomo.

No vote for Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate

Mr. Morgan said that one thing that upsets the Democrats is that the voters did not choose Harris in the primaries or the caucuses and instead it was initiated by Biden’s decision to immediately name his number two.

“Pelosi told his California delegation, there will be a meeting, there will be a caucus, there will be a convention,” Morgan said, a sentiment echoed by many Republican politicians and commentators at the time. “We rushed to this agreement when ‘democracy, democracy!’ And we didn’t have a democracy in choosing our person.”

The failure of the Kamala Harris campaign

Morgan, who admitted he did not personally donate to Harris’ campaign, criticized the way the campaign was funded, saying it could put his presidential future in doubt.

Morgan’s criticism comes amid multiple reports that the Harris campaign is $20 million in debt after spending heavily.

The megadonor said those who are said to have squandered the campaign funds should completely ban him from running for the presidency again.

Harris campaign ‘brags’: DNC committee member

“These same things will follow Harris for the rest of his life. He can’t be trusted with the money, and the donors are there, like, ‘Where is this money?'” he said.

Lindy Li, a member of the DNC’s finance committee, told NewsNation’s Rich McHugh that internal strife and financial instability within the party led some staffers to leave permanently.

The Harris campaign has denied there are any loans or bills.

Morgan argued that despite Harris’ performance in the presidential debate against President-elect Donald Trump, his record showed that he was not qualified to take the Republican party this election.

“We’ve seen how he’s done on the national stage,” Morgan said. “Look, he must have the talent to do what he did in California. I’ll give him that.

“But he wasn’t ready for the first period, and then they took him out in the first period, and he was destroyed.”
