Rep. Nancy Mace (RS.C.) insisted she is “working hard” for her constituents on Thursday as she lashed out at a reporter who pressed her about her attack on violence in Congress.
Scripps News anchor Liz Landers, in a fierce interview with a lawmaker who once said that “no one should be discriminated against” including trans people, said that Americans “face a lot of problems” and wrote several stories about how they faced them. have South Carolinians.
“Why do you think your supporters want you to focus on this bathroom renovation and not their jobs that were just lost at Boeing?” asked Landers in an interview that featured several anti-trans comments from Mace.
“You think women in Congress can’t walk and chew gum at the same time? Like you’re going to insult me and say that —,” Mace replied.
“Okay, congresswoman -,” Landers said.
“I can’t, I can’t work on so many things—,” continued Mace.
“I didn’t,” Landers replied.
“I’m going to let you know. No, no, no, no, no,” added Mace.
“I checked your social media and didn’t see anything about Boeing. Did you mention Boeing?” pressed Landers later on the eviction, which is said to affect more than 200 residents in Mace County.
Mace prepared to push a bill that would ban transgender women from using women’s bathrooms on Capitol Hill, taking to social media to post videos and photos and talk about the issue in recent days.
He introduced the legislation after Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.) became the first person openly elected to Congress earlier this month.
Mace, after Landers continued to press him on Boeing, finally laughed in response.
“You’re unbelievable and very insulting to women,” replied Mace, who said he needed to “get all the facts” and “understand what’s really going on so I don’t shoot from the hip prematurely.”
He then went on to say, “And no other left-wing journalist as you would say would stop me from serving the people of South Carolina.”
