A suspected killer in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier this month was arrested Tuesday by members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Stockton Police Department reported.
De’Arius Wilson, 22, was arrested on charges of murder, attempted murder, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance with a firearm.
He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday, jail records show.
Wilson is believed to be involved in the slaying of Richard Guerrero III, 30, of Stockton.
Police found Guerrero and an 18-year-old man with gunshot wounds at 6:44 pm on Nov. 18 near East Park and North California streets. All were taken to the local hospital for treatment. The teenager was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital, but Guerrero died from his injuries, according to police.
Wilson is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court for arraignment at 1:30 pm on December 2.
