As a registered dietitian who regularly uses MyFitnessPal—for personal tracking and for my clients—I’ve seen how time constraints can make it a constant challenge. But the new MyFitnessPal Voice Logging feature really simplifies the process, making it faster and easier for busy users.
For example, I was using the recipe to accompany my usual breakfast: two scrambled eggs, a slice of toast, chicken sausage, and avocado, with a cup of coffee.
Talking that into the app and reviewing it only takes 15 seconds– a time limit even the busiest people can manage!

What are the Features of Voice Recording?
Voice Logging is a new Premium feature in the MyFitnessPal app. Not a Premium member? No problem! Try Premium free for 30 days.
The feature makes cutting multiple foods, recipes, and serving sizes easy. Instead of typing and searching for items by hand, all you need is your voice (and a few taps).

Advantages of Using Voice Input for Tracking
The Voice Logging feature offers several advantages over MyFitnessPal food tracking:
- Facilitates estimation of component valuesIt’s hard to know how much food you’ve consumed in ounces, grams, or other units of measurement. Now, define your server using your hand. For example, “I ate a piece of chicken the size of my fist for lunch.” Or “I had a handful of blueberries for a snack.” (See our handy guide to sizes in the section below!)
- It saves you time: Voice typing replaces the need to type in food searches, which can make it quick and easy to keep track of your meals and snacks. You can also enter multiple recipes at once by specifying your recipe aloud. Even better, you can enter multiple recipes at once! Come the end of the day, open your app, tap Voice Log from the drop-down menu, and record your breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Check it out, revise if needed, and log in!
- It lets you log in as you gomultitasking? No problem This method is great for making sure you get your food in, even when you only have a few seconds.
- It may increase consistency: Finding a way to fit food easily into your daily routine can help you stay consistent. And when you regularly monitor your health habits, you have a better chance of reaching your goals.
