‘He thought he was going to be president again

Former UN Ambassador, Nikki Haley (R) recently questioned the reason for President Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter, pointing to a twist in the presidential election.

Biden, who announced on Sunday that he would grant Hunter Biden clemency for his federal gun and tax evasion charges, had previously vowed to stay out of his son’s lawsuits. The reversal, the White House said, was related to President-elect Trump’s comments.

“He said it over and over again. He said he’s not going to forgive his son,” Haley, who clashed with the GOP presidential nominee before stepping down, said Friday on his SiriusXM show. “So to all the people who say, ‘but a parent,’ I feel like we would do anything for our kids, but he didn’t have to.”

“And so, you have to ask yourself, why did he say he wasn’t and then suddenly do it?” I think it’s because he thought he would be president again and he would be able to push the verdict the way he wanted,” he added later.

Haley said Biden likely assumed that he or Vice President Harris would win the 2024 presidential election, thus allowing her to delay sentencing the younger Biden on gun charges, which would have taken place this month.

“He would make sure that he never spends time. That’s why I think he did it all the time he imagined that he would be the leader. or all the time he imagined, Kamala could be the leader, and he can refuse, and I think when it didn’t happen,” he said Friday.

“I think, push came to shove, and then you go, he had to do it,” Haley added.

Biden dropped his candidacy at the end of July, ending a 50-year political career, and endorsed Harris to lead the ticket. The decision came after pressure from some Democrats to step aside following a disastrous debate with Trump in June.

The vice president’s strength was strong at the beginning of the campaign, but the race was finally called for Mr. Trump.

The president-elect, whose threat of revenge has been public, criticized the president for pardoning his son. Trump called the move “harassment and mismanagement.”

In addition to sympathizing with Hunter, Biden has been in discussions with his team about granting early pardons to some of Trump’s critics, according to people familiar with the matter. Democrats, who seem divided on the idea, have pressed the president to grant more pardons.
