A fireplace on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg on Sunday morning is being investigated as an arson, in line with state police.
Gov. Josh Shapiro and his household had been in numerous space of the residence on the time of the hearth and had been in a position to evacuate safely, the information launch states. They weren’t injured.
Firefighters responded round 2 a.m. to the residence on North Entrance Road in Harrisburg for a report of a fireplace, the discharge states.

Governor Josh Shapiro points assertion after hearth
Shapiro issued the next assertion this morning:
“Final evening at about 2AM, my household and I woke as much as bangs on the door from the Pennsylvania State Police after an arsonist set hearth to the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg.
“The Harrisburg Bureau of Hearth was on the scene and whereas they labored to place out the hearth, we had been evacuated from the Residence safely by Pennsylvania State Police and assisted by Capitol Police. Thank God nobody was injured and the hearth was extinguished.
“Daily, we stand with the legislation enforcement and first responders who run in the direction of hazard to guard our communities. Final evening, they did so for our household – and Lori and I are eternally grateful to them for preserving us protected.
“PA State Police is on the scene main this investigation and can hold the general public up to date.”
