A fatal crash was reported on Williston Road in Alachua County early Tuesday morning, according to information from Alachua County Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to a release from Alachua County Fire Rescue, the accident happened on Tuesday at 4:49 am.

Southwest Williston Road near its intersection with Southwest Wacahoota Road.
What caused the accident?
According to an ACFR release, units arrived at the scene and found two vehicles with “extreme damage” as a result of the collision. One of the drivers had to be extricated from their vehicle. Both drivers were taken to local hospitals.
FHP’s online live crash report indicates the crash was fatal, but no other details have been released. As of 9 am, all traffic lanes in the area remained closed.
