Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 16 early bird picks

It’s never too early to look forward to your next match and the chance to strengthen your fantasy football squads. Here are some options to consider in Week 16 — the fantasy football playoff semifinals in most leagues.

Lamar Jackson came off his bye on fire in Week 15, going 21 of 25 for 290 yards and a whopping five touchdown passes. He also added 65 yards on the ground. However, his arm ruled the day and Rashod Bateman was the direct beneficiary.

Bateman tied for second on the team in targets with five, but scored two touchdowns and led the team in receiving yards. He had just three catches on the day, showing his explosive ability.

The Ravens have a lot of weapons, but with the way Jackson is playing right now (maybe he could win another MVP), we want pieces of that offense. If you need WR help, add Bateman.

Consider this your last call to add Jerome Ford to fantasy. The news quickly dropped after the Browns loss against Kansas City where Nick Chubb unfortunately broke his leg. Ford is now expected to be the unquestioned starter for the Browns moving forward.

We’ve also seen Ford perform admirably as a starter in the past, and he did the same in Week 15 when Chubb left the game. Ford scored the most fantasy points this season against the Chiefs and has a juicy matchup against the hapless Bengals next week. Expect him to be the best addition in Week 16.

Alvin Kamara had to leave the Saints’ comeback attempt against the Commanders with a groin injury. Kamara was pretty much the entire offense for the Saints, so fantasy football managers will have to keep a close eye on this injury situation.

For now, however, Kendre Miller appears poised to earn a bigger role in the New Orleans backfield.

Miller showed on Sunday that he has been cracking in limited work. He’s next in line if Kamara misses time and the Saints have a pretty good slate for the rest of the season on the RB side. If nothing else, Miller is another backfield RB who should be on a roster in multiple leagues as a safety.
