NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Country music star Morgan Wallen on Thursday pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct for throwing a chair off a six-story roof in Nashville and attempting to hit two police officers with it.
Wallen, who appeared in court with his lawyer, was sentenced to seven days in an education center and will be on supervised probation for two years.
“He’s guilty,” Wallen said when Judge Cynthia Chappell asked how she would plead for him.

According to the arrest affidavit, Wallen was accused of throwing a chair on the roof of the Chief’s bar on April 7. The chair landed a yard (meters) from the police, spoke to witnesses and reviewed security footage. Witnesses told police they saw Wallen pick up a chair, throw it on the roof and laugh about it.
Shortly after the incident, Wallen released a statement in which he said he accepted “responsibility” and was “not proud” of his actions. The statement did not apologize but referred to “corrections” and contacting law enforcement.
The “One Thing at a Time” singer was initially charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
Wallen’s attorney, Warrick Robinson, said in a statement that the singer “has cooperated fully with authorities over the past eight months, speaking directly and apologizing to all involved.”
“Once he completes his probation, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and dismissal,” Robinson added.
Wallen did not comment after the brief 10-minute hearing on Thursday. Instead, he was quickly escorted out by several guards.
Wallen is one of the biggest names in country today and was named the Country Music Association Awards’ entertainer of the year last month.
In 2021, Wallen was permanently suspended from his name after a video surfaced of him shouting racism. In 2020, he was arrested on charges of drunkenness and disorderly conduct after being kicked out of the Kid Rock bar in downtown Nashville.
