The CNN interview that aired on Thursday got a bit awkward as one representative told another to stop contacting him on the air.
A nasty exchange took place between Republican Strategist Scott Jennings and Bakari Sellers – a former Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives – as they discussed inflation.
Speaking further NewsNight with Abby PhillipTraders approached Jennings as he said: “What Scott wasn’t sure about—what kind of thing happens at the table sometimes, even though I know you want to be…”
Jennings intervened to tell Sellers bluntly: “Don’t touch me!”
The vendors, laughing wildly, asked “I can’t touch you now?!” continuing, he put his hand on Jennings’ back. That’s when Abby Phillip, who was playing, decided to intervene.
“Okay, everyone, keep your hands on the table,” he said.
The touching moment was the latest flash between the two men. In October they clashed over comments made by Jennings, a former George W. Bush administration official, about Palestinian protesters, comparing them to Adolf Hitler.
Sellers, surprised by the statement, called it “far from brilliant.”
“The line has been crossed,” Sellers said. “You and the line behind you are comparing college students fighting for Palestinian rights to Adolf Hitler.”
Sellers also took Jennings on air in May, accusing Jennings of lecturing him “on what black voters want and need” during a discussion about President Joe Biden’s voter outreach plan ahead of the 2024 election.
