Stolen in October, a 1973 Holden Torana XUI was recovered with parts put back together.
A 1973 Holden Torana XUI is not an inexpensive car on the collector car market. Rarely sold to the public, examples that cross the auction block have no problem pulling in over $100K, and even more if in good condition. So if one is missing, it is no small loss. When it was restored, it is said that the parts of the car were reduced to be joined together with tapes.
Early last October, a 1973 Holden Torana XUI was stolen from a shed in Napier, on the North Island of New Zealand. Shawn Hardin (pictured above) was carjacked, and has many stories about why he had the car, saying he didn’t steal it himself. Shawn said he bought the car for $20k and a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was later charged and charged with receiving stolen property.
The video shows two car thieves kicking in the door to get into the shed. They also tried to get a $170K boat, but didn’t know how to tow it. After a failed attempt to hijack the boat, they returned and stole a Holden muscle car.
“The signs show that this car was headed towards each other. Its removal required two cars that were blocking its path to be broken up and moved so that this car could be removed,” said the document.
The car was heavily damaged, including damage to the windshield and interior. Also, transmission was severely affected.
Not surprisingly, the man caught in the car also had a meth pipe in his pocket, and had a criminal history including stabbing his ex-boyfriend in front of his children in 2005.
