Ferrari has confirmed that it will supply powertrains and gearboxes to Cadillac if the American Formula 1 team enters the race in 2026.
It was confirmed in November that General Motors and Formula 1 had reached an agreement for the manufacturer to become the 11th team from 2026.
GM will operate its own Cadillac brand while the team will be operated by TWG Global, a spin-off from Andretti’s original team. GM is set to release its electric units before the end of the decade—it originally set 2028 as a realistic date—but it will first enter as a consumer unit.
Under its initial Andretti proposal, which was rejected by Formula 1, the outfit had a contract to test run Renault power units. Renault’s decision, however, ended long before the French marque launched its 2026 power unit plan.
On Tuesday, Ferrari confirmed that it has reached a ‘multi-year agreement from 2026 with Andretti Formula Racing LLC, regarding the supply of the power unit and gearbox to the racing team managed by TWG Global and General Motors.’
It means that Cadillac will join Haas as Ferrari’s customer team from 2026.
Ferrari’s current partner, Sauber, will switch to Audi engines from 2026 when the German manufacturer enters the competition.
