“Real Time” host Bill Maher challenged independent scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson over his refusal to say that men have a physical advantage over women in sports, insisting that “he is part of the problem.”
The exchange began when Maher put the spotlight on the firing of the editor-in-chief of Scientific American over his viral attack on Trump voters.
However, Maher thought the magazine’s “bad” piece was a piece published last year that said “The inequality between male and female athletes is not due to genetic differences between men and women but to discrimination in the way they are treated in sports.”

“That’s nuts, and it’s certainly not scientific,” Maher said. “And it’s in Scientific American. And that’s why the Democrats lost the election.”
The famous astrologer responded by letting out a big belly laugh.

“It’s true,” Maher said twice.
“Bill, every 20 minutes on your stage, you come up with another reason why the Democrats lost,” Tyson said.
“That’s not true. First of all, you don’t watch this show, so you don’t know,” Maher shot back. “I know you don’t and that’s fine, but you talk like you do and you f—in’ don’t. And well, don’t just bulls— me. That’s the only thing people can do. ”t ever do on this show is bulls– – me.”
Maher Blasts Lefties ‘Folding Down’ On What ‘F—ed’ Them In Election: ‘Take One Week To Question What You Did Wrong’
“Get into the mindset here,” Maher said. “What I’m asking is that Scientific American is saying that the reason the WNBA team can’t beat the Lakers is because of racism.”
“What you’re saying is not ‘Scientific American says that,’ the editor of Scientific American says who doesn’t care anymore,” Tyson pushed back. “So don’t blame a 170-year-old magazine because somebody—”
“Ok, this is called Scientific American!” Maher called out. “And they’re printing something—”
“Because someone goes into the cesspool that is social media and participates in that exchange. Let’s talk about science!” Tyson said.

“Why can’t you just say this is unscientific and that Scientific American should do better?” Maher asked.
“Well, is his job still there?” Tyson replied.
“Not because of this!” Maher called out. “I said the scandal is not his tweet… don’t you see the problem?”
“Swimming distance, women can have a chance, you look into that,” Tyson replied.
“Yeah, maybe a long swim… Well, I’ll put you under the ‘problem’ category,” Maher told her with a laugh.
Later in the discussion, Maher remained speechless with Tyson’s refusal to talk about the matter.
“I can’t find a scientist to say that Scientific American, the magazine, like many organizations, has been influenced by this wing, far-left to the point of denying things that are obvious to the naked eye,” Maher said.
“He doesn’t want to talk about anything!” reporter Andrew Sullivan did. “And people are not stupid. They see them making this up [statements]and they see Democrats rejecting- and liberals refusing to reject them. How come? What is Neil afraid of? I know what he’s afraid of. He’s afraid of the social media crowd calling him out- he’s a sex offender and all. We must overcome that! “
“It’s crazy,” Maher admitted. “And people see that and go ‘Okay so I can’t trust you with anything.’ I mean, look at the announcement that Kamala Harris – that Trump confronted her about being transgender in prison, like, ‘We’re going to pay inmates to get transgender surgery’ hits like three people in the world I wouldn’t say ‘That was dumb.’ And people go, ‘Okay, so I can’t trust you with anything.’
Maher and Tyson’s feud continued during his live “Overtime” segment after the scientist took a swipe at a host saying he didn’t believe in “scientific issues” while discussing immunity.
“Actually, you’re the man who doesn’t understand why [WNBA] the team can’t beat the Lakers, so I don’t know, you have to be a scientist and you can’t accept that!” Maher shouted. “This is not your field, you are not a doctor. “
“I’m a scientist! Excuse me,” Tyson said angrily.
“He’s not a doctor! If I have a goiter on Uranus, I’ll call you,” Maher added.
