Authorities have identified a Newburgh man who was killed in a collision

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person killed in Thursday’s crash as a 68-year-old Newburgh man.

Kevin Aker was killed while driving east on Indiana 68 near Knob Hill Road in Lynnville around 5 pm Thursday. According to a news release from Sheriff Mike Wilder, a second westbound driver crossed the center line and struck Acker’s vehicle.

Aker was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Wilder, the driver told authorities he was “tired and possibly sleepy,” which led him to jump over the median.

The release does not identify the driver, nor does it say that they have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
