A Prince George’s County Police Department officer was fired after a viral video showed him kissing a woman in uniform, according to the Washington Post

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – A member of the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) was fired after a video of him kissing a woman and getting into the back of a police cruiser went viral last year, according to report from the Washington Post.

A video posted on TikTok, which has garnered millions of views, showed Cpl. Francesco Marlett hugs and pretends to kiss the woman before escorting her to the back of his police SUV and joining her.

UPDATE: A Prince George’s County police officer has been suspended over a video of him getting into his SUV with a woman.

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, PGPD began an internal investigation of Marlett. During this time, he was suspended with pay but his police powers were taken away, according to previous reports report from DC News Now.

Prince George’s County police said they have had problems in the past.

In 2016, Marlett was convicted of child abuse and domestic violence but an investigation found “the charges were unsubstantiated,” a sheriff’s statement said.

Officials also said that in the alleged child abuse case, Marlett was removed from the “next round” and fined $1,500 for his actions.

DC News Now reached out to PGPD for comment but did not hear back by publication time.
