HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) – A Hinesville police officer was involved in a car accident Saturday night shortly after 10 pm while responding to a call.
According to GSP, the officer was responding to a dispatch call, with lights and sirens on, when a vehicle pulled out in front of his patrol car on 15th St. and Tattnall Drive. When the cars collided, the patrol car stopped in a grassy area on Govenor’s Blvd.

GSP says the officer was not injured and two people in the passenger car were taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. One of the passengers was a six-year-old child.
The accident is currently under investigation by GSP.
