“Emergency medical teams are prioritizing those most in need of care, and we continue to monitor the situation,” police said in a news release.

The tornado caused “significant damage” in many areas, police said.

Photos shared by police on social media showed dozens of cars overturned on the side of the road and in a shopping mall parking lot.

The weather service confirmed the tornado based on videos, photos, eyewitness accounts and radar and said a survey team will continue to assess the damage on the ground to determine its severity.
