Six people traveling in a car in Newark, New Jersey, were killed after a car overturned on a road Friday night, authorities said.
The incident happened at 10:47 p.m. at the intersection of Raymond Boulevard and Blanchard Street, where the vehicle was traveling in the southbound lane, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
“While on the road, the car somehow left the road, went airborne, and hit the support of the Pulaski Skyway before landing. As it landed, the car caught fire,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The six people killed were not immediately identified.
The accident investigation is ongoing.
