President-elect Trump will travel to Paris this week to attend the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, five years after a devastating fire damaged the 12th-century structure.
Trump announced the Dec. 7 visit on social media.
“It is a privilege to announce that I will be going to Paris, France, on Saturday to attend the reopening of the Magnificent and Historic Notre Dame Cathedral, which has been fully restored after a terrible fire five years ago,” he wrote. on True Social. “President Emmanuel Macron has done a wonderful job to see that Notre Dame is restored to its glory, and even more so.”

Trump said he will attend the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral this week, five years after a fire severely damaged the structure.
“It will be a special day for everyone!” he added.
The invitation-only celebrations on Saturday and Sunday are expected to attract 50 heads of state and government. Aides to Trump were in talks with French President Macron’s office about the visit, sources confirmed to Fox News.

About one billion dollars has been collected to rebuild the famous place after the worst fire that swept the place in April 2019. About 148 million dollars is left.
The fire caused the roof of the cathedral to collapse and part of its exterior destroying the interior.

Notre Dame suffered a devastating fire in April 2019.
During the fire, Trump urged France to use “flying water tanks” to put out the fire.
“It is terrible to see the great fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris,” he wrote. “Perhaps flying water tanks can be used to extinguish it. You must act quickly!”
The cathedral was visited by more than 12 million people each year before the fire, according to the site Friends of Notre-Dame de Paris.
French President Emmanuel Macron toured the site before it opened to the public on December 8, describing the event as “heavy,”
He is estimated at 15 million annual visitors they are expected to book time-assigned slots at the reopening, according to the cathedral’s website.
