KYIV (Reuters) – Ten individuals, together with two youngsters, have been killed and 52 have been injured on Sunday evening when a Russian missile hit a residential nine-storey constructing in Ukraine’s northeastern area of Sumy, Ukraine’s emergency providers and army mentioned.
“Sunday night for town of Sumy turned hell, a tragedy that Russia dropped at our land,” Volodymyr Artyukh, the pinnacle of the Sumy army administration mentioned in a submit on the administration’s Telegram messaging channel.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine mentioned on Telegram that rescuers and all vital providers continued to work on the scene and psychologists have been offering help to these affected.
Greater than 400 individuals have been evacuated, the Service added.
Photos posted on the Service’s Telegram confirmed firefighters battling a blaze consuming vehicles and rescuers carrying individuals out of a constructing. A photograph confirmed a multi-storey constructing with almost all home windows blown out and facade broken.
Reuters was not in a position to independently confirm the Ukrainian experiences. There was no quick remark from Moscow.

Either side deny focusing on civilians of their strikes on one another’s territory. However hundreds have died since early 2022 in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the overwhelming majority of them Ukrainians.
