Hundreds of Culinary Union workers go on strike at hotel near Las Vegas Strip

Round 700 hospitality staff walked off the job at Virgin Inns Las Vegas as contract negotiations between the lodge and the Culinary Union broke down.

The Culinary Union is Nevada’s largest with greater than 60,000 staff. The union stated no staff from some other Las Vegas inns are being known as on to strike. 

Pappageorge stated Virgin Las Vegas’ proposal is “miles aside” from what the union needs “and is an insult to each employee, which is why the committee voted unanimously to refuse to accept a second-class contract.”

The union stated picketing staff could be outdoors the lodge 24 hours a day till the strike ends.

“This morning, we went to order breakfast — room service — they usually stated it was unavailable,” Lance Richards advised FOX 5. “They’re not open right now.
