Jim Hiller has never been shy about experimenting with his line combinations, but today’s alignment is a bit off, even for him. The Los Angeles Kings lined up for their team’s skate this morning:
Foegele – Kopitar – Kempe
Moore – Byfield – Jeannot
FIala – Helenius – Laferriere
Turcotte – Danault – Lewis

In case you’re keeping score at home, that’s practically four brand new lines. The only trio to have at least one minute of ice time combined in 5v5 is the top line with Warren Foegele on the left side of Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. The other three combinations only registered ice time together due to line change delays.
The morning skate saw another significant change, albeit more under the radar. Alex Turcotte was deployed to the second power unit, replacing Jordan Spence.
After his worst outing of the season, Dave Rittich is the confirmed starter for tonight’s Kings host the Winnipeg Jets.
