“This seizure disrupted the finances of criminal organizations in many countries, preventing them from obtaining 8.4 billion dollars. We were also able to prevent the production of 29 tons of cocaine by destroying 475 laboratories.”

The six-week operation was led by the international Orion campaign that included 10 international organizations and 127 organizations from 62 countries.

A total of 1,408 tons of drugs were seized, including 225 tons of cocaine, more than 128 tons of marijuana were seized and 1,044 tons were intercepted in agricultural areas between Brazil and Paraguay, as well as 4.9 tons of hashish and 198 kilograms of methamphetamine.

The operation took place in seas, beaches, oceans, rivers, land areas and port areas of five continents, according to a report shared by the Colombian authorities.
