Baker Mayfield files suit against father’s company seeking $12 million

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife filed a lawsuit on November 22 in the Austin, Texas, District Court claiming that his father’s company stole $12 million.

According to the indictment, more than $12 million was taken from Baker and Emily Mayfield from 2018 to 2021.

Per KOCO.com:

The lawsuit alleges that a collection of related entities whose common owners transferred more than $12,000 from Mayfield to them without authorization, proper documentation or adequate accounting of the transactions. The defendants then used the money as they saw fit, “including obtaining financing for purchases or paying operating expenses (such as meeting payment obligations),” according to the lawsuit.

There is no word that Baker Mayfield’s “money celebration” during the Bucs’ victory over the Giants on Sunday was led by his father and the company, not New York QB Tommy DeVito.
