The body of missing Manitowoc veteran Jason R. Neumann has been recovered from Lake Michigan

MANITOWOC – The body of Jason R. Neumann, a 43-year-old veteran from Manitowoc, was recovered from Lake Michigan about two miles north of Cleveland on Saturday.

Police confirmed the discovery of Neumann’s body on November 23.

In a press release Nov. 20, police said Neumann’s vehicle, a 2019 Toyota 4Runner SUV, had been recovered by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 19 near the shore of Lake Michigan in shallow water near the village of Cleveland. Police believe Neumann went missing on November 18.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to Jason’s family and friends at this difficult time,” Manitowoc Police Department Lt. Adam Sohlden said in a press release. “At this point in the investigation, there is no indication of foul play.”

The release said the investigation is being completed by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and the Manitowoc County coroner.
