A delivery truck hit a Tesla Cybertruck that then collided with two other vehicles on a freeway in Orange County on Friday night.

According to the first information, the accident was reported below the 5 Freeway Beach Boulevard exit in Buena Park; timestamped vehicle surveillance images showing the time of the crash indicate that the collision occurred at 7:22 pm.

Video obtained by KTLA shows first responders extricating the driver of a white Chevy pickup that crashed into the Cybertruck. His Chevy sustained serious damage, the video shows.

The Cybertruck sustained rear-end damage as well as minor front-end damage due to a broken chain. The extent of the damage to the other two vehicles involved is unknown.

A witness to the accident said that the situation happened quickly.

“As soon as the Tesla Cybertruck stopped at the red light, the white truck stopped behind it but it continued to drive … it didn’t stop,” said witness, Devin Duckworth. “[The white truck] he ended up hitting Tesla, and Tesla was pushed into the van and the Infiniti. “

The unidentified male driver of the white pickup truck was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. No other major injuries were reported.

Information indicating that the accident was caused by a man who fell asleep at the wheel was not supported by the law enforcement.
