OpenAI launched ChatGPT in late November 2022. Although it had zero fanfare when it was launched, the platform has grown significantly since then. As of today, it boasts more than 200 million users worldwide, driven by the artificial AI craze that has made it a hit.
It can be safe to say that chatbot ushered in the era of AI and the race for businesses to capitalize on it. In the beginning, companies started slowly by integrating artificial intelligence into their offerings to see what works and what doesn’t.

As of today, they are taking a giant leap in the AI space, relying on the fruits they will reap when everything is in place.
“2023 was the year the industry and businesses turned their heads to AI. 2024 is the year we are starting to see the real deployment of our technology”.
Countless innovations in AI show how powerful the technology remains today. In recent news, Enfabrica, a California-based startup that aims to make AI chips work more efficiently together at scale, recently announced that it has raised $150 million in funding and plans to release its new chip early next year.
The startup is tackling one of the biggest technical challenges that has emerged in the field of AI. The problem is related to tying tens of thousands (or more) of chips together in a network. The chip company tries to allow computer chips to communicate simultaneously to other parts of the network.
According to co-founder and CEO Rochan Sankar, current systems can integrate about 100,000 AI chips before the network slows down. Sankar says chips from Enfabrica could increase this number to 500 chips, making it possible to train large-scale AI models.
“It has become evident in the last six to nine months that the nature of this network drives the efficiency of that (computer power), whether it’s bandwidth, resilience or recovery from losses. All these things matter when you start running at scale.”
In other news, OpenAI has just launched a free course for educators with non-profit partner Common Sense Media. Education will enable teachers to understand artificial intelligence and use it effectively. The move comes amid OpenAI’s positive image of ChatGPT in education. Initially, ChatGPT was causing a stir as it helped students flip through papers, complete their homework, and even write essays.
