Roseville Galleria Mall hit by ‘smash and grab’ robberies, police investigate

(FOX40.COM) – Law enforcement is investigating a robbery that occurred at the Roseville Galleria Mall on Thursday.

Around 11:30 a.m., the Roseville Police Department said it responded to a “breaking and entering” inside the Galleria’s S&L Gem. Police said several suspects entered the store with a hammer, broke glass, and fled with stolen jewelry.

No weapons were used and no one was injured, according to RPD. No arrests were made, but RPD said the investigation is ongoing.

In response, the Roseville Galleria has increased security.

“The safety and security of our customers, vendors, and employees is our highest concern at Westfield Galleria in Roseville,” a Roseville Galleria spokesperson told FOX40.com. “We are working with local law enforcement regarding the first incident at our headquarters.”

The robbery comes one week after a robbery at a Kim Tin jewelry store in Sacramento left a woman dead. The two incidents are not connected, however, the Sacramento robbery involved five to six people who used burglars and other equipment for the crime.
